When looking for a professional carpet cleaning company, always consider the cleaning process. There are different ways professionals use to clean carpets. Dry treatments, wet treatments, steam cleaning and a variety of others are available. Some require significant drying time or could require that you leave the home. Choose the one that works best for you.

After you get a professional cleaning for your rug, make sure that you do not come in contact with the rug until it dries. Go out to the store or hang out with your friends for a little while as your rug should not be toyed with due to the sensitivity after cleaning.

Renting a steam cleaner is a great way to keep your carpet clean. Most major stores have steam cleaners that can be borrowed or rented. Plan on renting a steam cleaner two or three times a year to clean your carpet thoroughly. Alternatively, rent one if you are having a hard time getting rid of a stain.

Ask a representative of the carpet cleaning company what type of solution they use to clean the carpet, and how safe it is for children and pets. You don't want to hire a company that uses something that can be harmful to your little ones. Try to arrange a place for them to go while the carpet is being cleaned if possible.

Good carpet cleaning services provide you with a guarantee concerning their work. Don't hire a carpet cleaning company that won't give you a guarantee. If you are not happy with the results and need to enforce the guarantee, allow the company to first try to fix the problem. You can ask for a refund if you are not satisfied after their second attempt.

It is important to understand the fees you'll be charged for the services rendered. For example, while the basic services may be cheap, there may be issues such as stain removal which will be charged extra for. Have the company send a representative to your home so you can get an accurate quote.

Be sure and do a bit of research when considering which carpet cleaning company to hire. Don't simply take their word for it. Rather, consult with online interviews to get valuable feedback from past customers. This will allow you to see what sort of job this company is capable of.

When looking at prospective carpet cleaning businesses to hire, try checking for online customer reviews. You can gain valuable insight on many local cleaners. Many reviews sites allow customers to post about their experiences with particular companies. This method of sharing information can provide you with either recommendations or warnings to avoid certain companies. Those with better reviews can really narrow down your search.

The last step in interviewing companies is to call their references. You may find yourself shocked by the fact that the references they give are fake! This is because most people who ask for them never actually follow up with phone calls. If any of the numbers are out of service or have no idea what you're talking about, run away from that company.

Ask trusted family and friends for recommendations. There are many people besides you who use a carpet cleaner. Chances are, a loved one has gone through this process before. Therefore, you should be able to find a person who can recommend a carpet cleaner for you. If you hear about a less than glowing review, take note.

Read the fine print on any coupons you intend to use. Many of them have stipulations as to what they will or won't do. Sometimes, you will be hit with additional fees after presenting the coupon. Talk to the company ahead of time about what you need to have done. Force them to explain if there are any stipulations with the coupon. They may even have a special running at the time that saves you more money than the coupon does.

It is always important to ask for reference from any company you are thinking about dealing with. A reputable company will have a handy list of references they can refer you to. Don't just rely on this since they don't give numbers and names of those dissatisfied with their service.
