The Original Haze, rumored to have tropical genetics from Thailand, Mexico, and Colombia, gave the user a huge sativa jolt. The feeling created was cerebral and uplifting, with practically no ceiling to the high provided.

Joe Haze, one of the aforementioned Haze Brothers, was quoted in American #63 (dated November of 1980) as follows: The stuff they develop up there in Northern Cali is largely indica, but it€™s harvested early to get it in ahead of the frost. In our county the buds pump out resin right up until December, and Haze weed is from sativa seeds.Four Haze phenotypes arose, nicknamed Gold, Silver, Purple, and Blue.

Even with the excitement, Haze seeds remained scarce for a long time until finally the late 1970s, when famed breeder Sam Skunkman started making and refining his own batches. By 1984, he had taken them to Holland and commenced promoting them beneath his Sacred Seeds moniker. With a flowering time from 12 to as much as sixteen weeks, the First Haze gained a track record as a finicky, difficult plant to grow, and numerous people preferred planting Skunk and Northern Lights seeds as an alternative. (The First Haze is even now accessible today in seed form from Flying Dutchmen Seeds.)

Nevertheless, those who did grow the Haze to fruition were rewarded with long, sticky spears of spicy nuggets. These colas had to be coaxed out of the plant, with growers becoming mindful not to overfeed or over-water. Stakes or trellises are a must, to keep the tops from falling down under their own heavy weight. These extended, slender leaves and wispy buds are characteristic of pure sativa's like the Haze.

As marijuana historian Mr. Haze 420 explained to me, Nevils Haze is some of the most potent sativa i have ever smoked.

By the end of the decade, Haze hybrids were making it easier for growers and people who smoke to actually value the amazing qualities of the Haze marijuana strains. Nevil€™s Seed Bank released NL #five x Haze in 1989, and Sensi Seeds followed soon thereafter with their Silver Haze, receiving the High Times Cannabis Cup that same year.
