FindGirl Scout Cookie Seeds

Transforming Girl Scout Cookies seeds into a flowering plant will take intermediate skill as a grower. It will take some care and expertise to grow them into their flowering phase and get full yields. However, it won’t be too demanding, since these plants are hardy and resilient.

They have natural resistance to many diseases and pests that can afflict other strains. They can be grown either indoors or outdoors, though they prefer room to branch out. A hydroponic set-up is very effective for indoor growing. Many of the basic principles of growing marijuana plants apply to the Girl Scout Cookies plant. You’ll want them to be in a clean, well-lit, and well-watered environment – this will cut down on plant diseases and parasites. You should also take care to provide clean, nutrient-rich soil, or provide all the nutrients in hydroponic growing. This will go a long way in growing strong and healthy plants.

Of course, you must separate male and female plants if you’re growing for consumption. Male plants are not very useful for getting any harvests – their flowers are much weaker than buds. Only un-pollinated females will produce quality buds, which is the end result you’re looking for. If females get pollinated, they will produce Girl Scout Cookie seeds. The female will put its energy into growing seeds instead of buds, giving you less yield.

In addition, getting Girl Scout Cookies strain seeds mixed into the buds detracts from the final product. So it’s important to have female-only crops to get a good harvest. You don’t have to destroy all males, though – controlled, limited pollination keeps up genetic diversity if you’re a committed grower.

To start off, you should germinate the Girl Scout Cookie seeds in wet paper towels or sponge. Once they open, they can be planted in damp soil. The growing plant should be illuminated by low-hanging fluorescent lighting for much of the day, assuming that you’re growing indoors. These lights are cheap and effective, and give plenty of blue-band light, which encourages foliage growth.

As for timing, it’s a good idea to have longer lit periods and shorter dark periods during their initial phase of growth. That causes slower maturation, leading to a higher quality crop later on. Light/dark hours during the vegetative growth phase vary from 24/0 to 18/6. When the plants flower, you must shift gears to a 12/12 light/dark cycle.

The temperature of the growing area should remain consistently between 68 and 78 degrees, with cooler temperatures at “night” (dark cycle). You might also want to invest in a dehumidifier to keep the room dry – excess humidity will reduce resin. You’ll want to keep up ventilation as well. As with all plants, they’ll need plenty of watering with clean water and drainage.

If you’re diligent about growing your Girl Scout Cookies strain plants, you’ll get a high quality harvest after about 9-10 weeks, of about 2 ounces per plant.
